Building a Sleep Stack: Magnesium, Glycine, and Ashwagandha Together
Melatonin is the default ingredient most people think of for sleep, but it's a hormone, not a nutrient โ and more isn't better. High-dose melatonin products can leave people groggy the next morning, which is part of why we built our Deep Sleep Blend around a different set of ingredients entirely.
Magnesium glycinate supports relaxation through a well-absorbed, gentle form of magnesium (glycinate is chosen specifically because it doesn't have the laxative effect some other magnesium forms do at higher doses). Glycine, an amino acid, is included at a separate, larger dose โ it's been used on its own in sleep research for its calming effect independent of magnesium.
L-Theanine contributes the same calm-without-sedation quality it's known for in our Caffeine + L-Theanine stack, just without the caffeine here. Ashwagandha (KSM-66) rounds it out from the stress side โ a lot of trouble falling asleep is really trouble winding down from an activated stress response, not a lack of sleepiness itself.
Chamomile extract, standardized for apigenin content, is the smallest player in the formula but a traditional addition to wind-down routines for a reason.
The combination is meant to be taken 30โ60 minutes before bed, giving the ingredients time to work together rather than expecting a single compound to do all the work at once.
